What to do after an Auto Accident?

 

1st Think About Safety

Stay Calm and Call the Police. If anyone is hurt tell the police you need medical assistance

Turn on emergency light, stay in your car and DO NOT move vehicle unless you’re in danger or DO NOT Obstruct traffic.

2nd Collect Information

Obtain information of driver and witnesses.

Take note of car position, weather, road condition, time, place, and traffic violations.

Take pictures of the accident and any visible injuries

Contact your insurance company as soon as possible

Address:

Telephone Number:

License Number:

Registration Number:

Insurance Company:

*Only ask for contact information if the other drivers do not provide insurance information*

Also, provide your name and Insurance information to other drivers.

3rd Seek Medical Help

If Injured, seek medical attention A.S.A.P.

Even if you do not feel like you were injured, be aware that sometimes injuries will not appear until hours or days after an accident.

Common injuries that happen in an auto accident are:

Whiplash, Concussions, Broken Bones, Contusions, and Abrasions.
